VSEPR stands for Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion. It is a theory which allows the user to predict the shapes of simple polyatomic molecules by applying a set of straight forward rules. This computer based online course is designed to teach the student the VSEPR rules. Once the user is familiar with the rules a set of worked examples are illustrated to show how the rules are applied to unfamiliar molecules. Then there is a set of problems in which the user must determine the geometry of a series of molecules which will be randomly selected by the computer. The online course is designed to take 4 hours in total.
